Cell Swatches: Pacifica Charmed Shadow Palette

Left to Right: Unicorn, Big Sky, Charming, Purple Haze, Moody, Alchemy, Avalon
Super fast Cell Swatches of the Pacifica Charmed Shadow Palette. No full review yet. I haven't had time to wear any of the shadows, but it's a new Pacifica palette and I thought people might like swatches before buying. I'm taking it on our trip over Memorial Day weekend, so I'll let you know. I had a hard time getting color payoff on my arm swatches, but you can see my finger swatches are more intense. Charming, the orange color, has a lovely pink iridescence that pictures just don't do justice to. I'll have to see how they do when applied on the eyes. I love the range of colors. Some neutrals and some fun colors for summer. It's a perfect travel palette because you can do more subdued looks as well as brighter looks. AND I love that you get seven colors instead of Pacifica's typical four-pan palettes, though each pan is smaller. For some reason the colors in the palette look slightly more intense in the pictures than they do in real life. Click on the pictures to scroll through and see larger versions.

The finger swatches are top to bottom: Unicorn, Big Sky, Charming, and Purple Haze.
All the arm swatches are top to bottom: Avalon, Alchemy, Moody, Purple Haze, Charming, Big Sky, and Unicorn.

Calling all Deodorant Testers!

I had a number of natural deodorants that worked well for me for years. But all of a sudden, those deodorants stopped working. My pits starting smelling funky. Like funky stank mixed with deodorant smell. Yuck. The cause? My best guess was combination of hormones and stress. My diet was the same. So out of desperation, I created this deodorant.

Anywho, I’m looking for testers. I would love to hear from vloggers and bloggers, but it’s not a requirement. I just want feedback about how it works for other people. Samples are limited. If you’d like one, email me at nhabtreasurehunt@gmail.com and please include your mailing address. I'd like to be able to ship internationally, but if costs are prohibitive I may not be able to. Shoot me your address and I'll check it out. Once the tester samples are gone, they’re gone. Samples will likely not be available until the 2nd week of May because I'm waiting on an essential oil delivery. Depending on feedback, I may open an etsy shop or take individual orders via email and just send people Paypal invoices. The only thing I ask in return is feedback after you've used the products for awhile. You can send me a quick email and let me know what you think :)

I’ve considered adding some shea butter to firm up the liquid-y-ness that occurs in hot weather, but Andrea over at Shoudra Stargleam says not to mess with a good thing. What are your thoughts? I may develop some other scents depending on interest. I know citrus scents are not everyone’s jam. Requests are welcome, but the efficacy of the deodorant is also influenced by the action of the essential oils so not every scent may work as well as the next one. Also, keep in mind, everyone’s body chemistry is different so what works for me may not work for you. Oh, and this is a natural deodorant, not an antiperspirant. You’re still going to sweat, but hopefully you won’t stink.

I don't have pictures available at this time but the current formulation is a paste; so you’ve got to massage those armpits. I’ve heard massaging your pits helps with lymphatic drainage and may contribute to breast health. Why not help stop odor and do the girls a favor? Disclaimer: I’m not a scientist and make no claims about curing or treating any diseases. Just trying to help with my funky pit stench.

Scent description: Very citrusy. Sweet and tart. Bloggers, help me out—how you would describe the scent?

Also, I'm looking for a fitting name. Somehow Desperation Deodorant doesn't seem particularly appealing.

Ingredients: arrow root powder, baking soda, coconut oil, bentonite clay, essential oils of grapefruit, lemon, lemon myrtle, lime, and sweet orange.

Warning: Before you try it, please do a small patch test it to ensure you have no sensitivities to any of the ingredients. Also, some of the essential oils may be photosensitizing, so don’t go waving your pits around in the sun :)

Instructions: Rub a dollop between your fingers and massage onto CLEAN and DRY armpits. I like to allow a few minutes for the oil to sink in before putting on clothing, but it goes on pretty dry so it’s not absolutely necessity.

*UPDATE*--RUST! DIY Mason Jar Soap Dispenser Pumps

The RUSTED  soap dispenser lid has gotten even rustier and created a filmy goo. I ended up throwing it out :(

I've been wanting to do these for awhile and finally found a site that sells the supplies!

Here's what I purchased from Factory Direct Craft to make the silver soap dispenser:

Stainless Steel Metal Dispenser Pump, $5.79

White Plastic Soap Dispenser Collar, 49 cents
-There's a video on how to assemble your soap dispenser if you click the 2nd picture.

Galvanized Mason Jar Lid, $1.99 - Make sure you buy the 1 1/16 inches diameter - Predrilled Hole lid if you want to make a soap dispenser. They offer the same lid with a smaller sized hole for making oil lamps.

Or you can buy all three together for $6.99.

They've got lots of other options and colors so you can customize colors for your decor!

I got the blue mason jars on Amazon from Ball's release of their Heritage Jar Collection.

Ball Jar Heritage Collection Pint Jars, Set of 6, $15.00

They offer those in green as well :)

I also got these nifty lids! Price: $1.89

Don't want to DIY? You can buy the soap dispensers pre-made too for $15.99!

NHAB Treasure Chest: Now Foods, Essential Oils, Uplifting Blend, Cheer Up Buttercup!

Book Cover Review!

Pros: I've been pretty busy, stressed, and overwhelmed lately, and this cheers me up with just one sniff :) I love to smell it throughout the day (watch for my upcoming DIY diffuser pendant/necklace post tutorial). It smells like lime candy. It's a citrus blend, but I get lime as the top note. Limey, tart, and sweet. I agree--it's uplifting as advertised.

Cons: I wish it was organic.
